Marketing 300

I found out my exam is not the equivalent of Marketing 100.

It's Marketing 300.

Wish me luck. When I'm done with this, I can say I've self-taught enough material to pass a MKT 300 exam in one summer.

Optimism

Optimism isn't such a bad thing! Feeling happy is underrated. Wish I could remember this feeling. Having hope gives me vitality to stay alive... if I could only feel like this every day, and have that kind of shiny warm calming and eternal sort of light inside, then I could keep going!

Healthy Habits #1

1) Get everything ready for the next day, the night before.
  • Lay out the outfit.
  • Get breakfast ready.
  • Pack bags.
  • Write "to-do" list.
This would be helpful for me because I'm such a terrible planner. Who would have thought! Planning ahead really does make things more streamlined.

2) Hang up coat as soon as you take it off. For clothes, when in doubt, throw it out... into the hamper. This will help keep clothes from eventually covering the entire floor.

3) Never leave your dishes in the sink for more than a day. Always wipe down the sink, stove top and counters after each use to prevent nasty build up.

4) Keeping a regular journal. Haven't figured out a good schedule for it yet. If I do it once a week, I might forget some important things. But if I don't have a schedule, I might not write for weeks because I'm too lazy.

5) Draw in a sketchbook once a day.

Would you live here?

A glass igloo.

A cozy home office.

A loft in Thailand with warm colors.

A "hilltop" house in California, complete with all my favorite ambient lightings!

Beautiful Interiors

A sexy bookstore. Would love to grab a coffee and hang out here all day...
And a sexy library with warm colors.

On Brutal Honesty

Y'ever notice how guys who "tell the truth" and "tell it like it is" never tell complimentary truths? Even when they are true?
"HEY! THAT SWEATER! IT MAKES YOU LOOK GOOD!"
"THAT SONG YOU PLAYED ON THE GUITAR SOUNDED LIKE SHIT, BUT IT SOUNDS WAY BETTER THAN THE LAST TIME YOU PLAYED IT! YOU'RE IMPROVIN'!"
"Brutal truth-tellers" are self-serving sacks of shit. It's right up there with "curmudgeon" as a self-congratulatory term assholes use. There's so much truth in the world that you can be a dedicated "truth teller" and say all sorts of shit. Good, bad, indifferent.
But of course, for some reason, only the nastiest, shittiest parts of anything are really true, right?
Oh, wait, no. That's a fucking lie.
Well, ain't that some shit?
Just tellin' it like it is.

My "Salad"

  • Avocado
  • Chicken and chicken skin
  • Sliced roast beef
  • Salad
  • Grape tomatos
  • Olive oil
  • Creamy Caesar dressing

This will help me poop!

Anyway, who am I kidding. This is less of me eating a salad than me eating some greens with some meat and salad dressing. And avocado. Can't ignore avocado...

Avocado Sorbet

1) Slice the avocados into thin strips and splash it with lots of lime juice. This is to keep it from browning, and it will add flavor to the sorbet. Freeze ahead of time, you can do this the night before or 3-4 hours ahead. This sorbet is flavored with lime juice, lime zest, and cilantro. You can omit the cilantro if you want to taste just the avocado.

2) Every single sorbet recipe I’ve encountered requires you to boil corn syrup, water, and sugar together. But you don’t have to boil anything or wait for it to cool here. Just chop cilantro, prep your lime zest, and pour simple syrup and corn syrup that you can buy at the store. Set it aside or put it in the fridge to keep it cool. This took me 30 seconds.

3) Pour your liquid into the frozen avocado batch that will eventually go into the processor.

4) Get your dish ready. The texture will be cold and firm because of the frozen avocados. Pulse until smooth (should take 3 minutes max).

5) Serve it straight from the machine. I used those cake decorator thingies for presentation purposes. The cup was also frozen before hand to keep it nice and cold.

The City in My Dreams

It's the same one.

I keep seeing it. It's the same one. Same restaurants. There's a fancy looking one, same lay out where I go in and there's a wall, and then there's a little area with stairs. There's the same path up the mountain I keep taking, the same resort. The same long river where there are tons of boats and ships making a line, it's almost like a river highway. There's the mall. There's always that same journal shop in there, with a jewelry section. If I go outside, there's always a couple of clothing stores that sell the same boring old things. It feels like I've been there dozens of times. There's the giant warehouse section on the first floor.

Spiral parking lot. The bubble tea shop.

What the heck? Why do I keep seeing the same places in my dreams? Trying to think of what places in real life they must be based on.

They're not always the same exact thing every time. Some rooms are different, sometimes it's bigger. But it's the same place.

Steaks

My friend cooked a beautiful steak.

Look at that tender juiciness.

Then, it was my turn to try...

This piece of crap here is MINE!

It wasn't actually too bad though.

In fact, I could have eaten it rarer. Mmm.

Suicide

http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/1xxzs1/my_cousin_killed_himself_this_week_and_his_gamer/

A guy named "Salus" commit suicide, and his gamer friends sent him this.

The thread was full of positive, heartfelt comments left by people who've been touched by this Salus guy. There were also lots of comments about suicide, depression, mental illness awareness.

One of the OP's comments: The guy was amazing. Funny, kind, smart...He just started a new job with great pay...I guess his brain chemistry just got the better of him. It pisses me off that someone with a ton going for himself can just be completely betrayed by his own mind.

Another commenter said: I know this sounds weird, but as someone who has tried to kill themselves, and survived to see what it did to the people I care about, I'd like to apologize on his behalf. We really don't think people will miss us.

Powerful thread. It reminds me that behind every name, username and statistic is someone who lived a life.

Kabaya Afternoon Tea Hard Candy

It comes in three flavors:
  • Lemon Tea
  • Straight Tea
  • Milk Tea

The texture is super smooth because there are no air bubbles. It's crunchy and crisp too and doesn't stick to your teeth if you chew on it. It's not too sweet, and might be a little bland for some.

The lemon tea is my personal favorite because it has that fragrant lemony taste and honey. The straight tea tastes kind of weird and artificial, but I still like it. Milk tea tastes like actual milk tea in candy form.
